Latest warnings of storm for 4 states, 124 deaths in 2 days

In India, the Union Home Ministry today said that a fresh alert has been issued for the storm in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Home Ministry said that during the last two days, 124 persons were killed and more than 300 were injured due to the storm and celestial power falling in five states.

73 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh, while 91 others were injured. A Home Ministry spokesman said that most of the deaths and injuries of people in the state occurred in Agra area. In Rajasthan, a total of 35 persons were killed and 206 were injured. There were eight people in Telangana, six in Uttarakhand and two persons in Punjab. About 100 people have been injured in Telangana, Uttarakhand and Punjab.

After the storm, power supply was disrupted in many areas as many trees were uprooted and the electric wire broke down. In the affected states, at least 12,000 pillars of electricity fell in the last two days and 2,500 transformers were damaged.

A home ministry spokesman said that a fresh alert was issued about the arrival of a possible storm in four states of West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh today. Storm can come in sporadic locations of Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

There is a possibility of storm and strong winds going on sporadic locations of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Odisha, North-West Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, North coastal Andhra Pradesh, Inner Tamilnadu and kerala.

There may be heavy rains in sporadic spots in Tamilnadu and Kerala, while in Rajasthan, there may be dust storms and typhoons in small areas. With this, the Home Ministry also issued a consultation for tomorrow saying that a storm could occur at the small areas of Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Upper Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Thunderstorms may occur at some places in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and West Bengal. An official said that there could be heavy rainfall in the small areas of Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura. A dust storm can occur in sporadic locations in Rajasthan.
