Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has called the informal meeting on Friday in the UN Security Council a big step after India's Article 370 was removed from Kashmir.

He welcomed the meeting and said that it has been a long time since the issue of Kashmir was discussed in the United Nations.

He tweeted and wrote, "I welcome the UN Security Council meeting to discuss the grave situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first time in 50 years that the world's highest diplomatic forum raised this issue is.''

Simultaneously, Imran has said that there are 11 proposals on Kashmir in the United Nations and the meeting held on Friday supports them.

He writes, "There are 11 resolutions of the United Nations Security Council that reiterate the right of self-determination of Kashmiris".

"The United Nations Security Council meeting repeats these resolutions. Therefore it is the responsibility of this global organization to alleviate the suffering of the people of Kashmir and resolve this dispute."

The meeting, convened after Pakistan's letter, took place in a closed room. India and Pakistan are not members of the UN Security Council, so they did not join it.

When the meeting ended, the ambassadors of India, China and Pakistan at the United Nations spoke to reporters. During that time Pakistan Ambassador Maliha Lodhi had also said the same, which is now written by tweeting by Imran Khan.

Maliha had said, "After several decades this issue has arisen in the United Nations Security Council and after getting up on this platform, it has been proved that it is not an internal matter of India but an international matter."

On the other hand, India's Ambassador to the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin said that Article 370 was an internal issue and said that the recent decision of the Government of India is for the economic, social development there.

At the same time, China's Ambassador to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, while giving information about the meeting, said that the UNSC member countries are also concerned about the human rights situation in India's Kashmir.
