The Supreme Court of India has ordered the power test at the Karnataka Assembly at four o'clock in the Karnataka Assembly. A bench of Justice AK Sikri, Justice SA Bobde and Justice Ashok Bhushan gave this interim order on the petition of the Congress-JD (S) Alliance. The Supreme Court dismissed the demand of the central government for secret ballot of the state's BJP government.

The Supreme Court said that the first temporary speaker of the Assembly will be appointed (Pro-Tem Speaker). Before 4 o'clock, all the legislators will be administered oath and at four o'clock will be the test of power. Videography of the process of trust vote will not be made.

The apex court also clarified that during this period, BS Yeddyurappa government will not take any policy decision nor will the Anglo-Indian person nominate a member of the assembly.

The Supreme Court has ordered the Director General of Police to provide security to all the MLAs. Despite the absence of the legislators required for the majority, the apex court has decided to hear the matter after 10 weeks on the issue of a single big party being invited by the Governor.

Congress lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi talked to the press and described the Supreme Court's decision as historic.

BJP's general secretary of Karnataka Shobha Karandlaje said that the party has welcomed the Supreme Court's order. Karandlaje, a close of Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, said, "The majority are ready for trial and tomorrow will test their strength."

The Supreme Court asked BS Yeddyurappa to prove his majority on Saturday in the Karnataka Assembly at 4 o'clock.

Mukul Rohatgi has said that expected to get majority test on Monday, arguing that Congress and JDS MLAs are out of state. The Supreme Court said that majority of the candidates prove it on Saturdays at 2 o'clock.

Mukul Rohatgi, who was keeping the party in the court on behalf of the BJP, demanded the right time while raising questions on the issue of immediate floor test. The Supreme Court said that there are many pre-instances of deadline determination.

Congress-JDS said that members of the Anglo-Indian community should not be elected as legislators prior to the power test in the House. The Supreme Court said this to the governor.

Senior counsel Kapil Sibal asked to appoint an interim assembly speaker for the floor test.

Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Karnataka government, said that the Governor did not get the letter signed by the Congress-JDS.

Singhvi said that if there is a majority test in the House tomorrow, then the Congress-JDS legislators will be given protection. The Supreme Court has ordered the Director General of Police to provide security to all the MLAs.

Congress leader and lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi demanded power test yesterday in the Karnataka assembly.

Justice Sikri said the power test should be done in the assembly and let it be decided. The question is, who is the first to give a chance?

Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that Yeddyurappa was claiming to be the biggest party even before the election results declared by the Election Commission.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who has kept the party side from Congress, said that this matter should be decided by the Supreme Court only who should be given an opportunity first. Congress-JDS alliance or BJP

Justice Sikri advised that the Karnataka Assembly had power test tomorrow. He further said that we do not give time to anyone.

The Supreme Court said that after the election the coalition is completely different from the alliance made before the election.

Rohatgi told the court, the letter supporting the Congress-JDS alliance was not signed by all the legislators.

JDS and Congress legislators reached Hyderabad. According to Hindustan Times sources, MLAs will stay in Hotel Park Hyatt on there.
