Human Rights Commission has automatically taken cognizance of the killing of 7 people in Jharkhand and has sought detailed report from the Jharkhand Police on the whole incident.
In Jharkhand two separate incidents, the mob had killed 7 people after considering the child as a thief. Four of these people were killed in Saraykela Kharswa and three people were killed in Nagandih of East Singhbhum.
The Human Rights Commission has raised serious concern on this incident and has summoned the response from DGP of Jharkhand. Human Rights Commission has sought the report from the Jharkhand government in 4 weeks.
The Human Rights Commission has asked Jharkhand Police about the measures, proposed measures, which the state government is implementing so that such incidents do not happen again.
The Commission has said that the news of the mass killing of people by the crowd is extremely worrisome and the state government should take action in this matter as soon as possible.
The Human Rights Commission said in its comment that a civilized society can never agree to such abusive crimes, where people are killed by crowd on the basis of just doubt.
In the meanwhile, there is continued demonstration of people in Jamshedpur demanding justice. Many people have also been involved in the clash with the police. Police also fired air to calm people, injunction has been issued in four areas of Jamshedpur.
Things are strained in Mango and Dhatakidih. In addition, injunction has been imposed in the Oliidih and MGM Police Station area. In these areas, people had blocked many areas for the arrest of the accused.
According to media reports, the police arrested 18 people in this case so far. The government has also acted on several police officers.
