A soldier from the Indian Army became a martyr in the heavy shelling by the Pakistani army on the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. An official said that Lance Nayak Mohammad Nasir was martyred in Pakistan's firing on the Line of Control in the Karakundi area.
Pakistan on Saturday targeting Indian security checkpoints by heavy shelling on the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts, which the Indian Army replied retorting.
Defense sources said, "The ceasefire was violated near Pakistan at 1.30 pm on both sides of the border. The Pakistani army attacked with small automatic weapons and mortars. From India also, effective and retarded response was given both places."
They said, "The firing continues on both sides till the final report is reached."
Explain that two soldiers were killed in Pakistani firing three days earlier. Earlier on Wednesday (July 12th) two Army soldiers were martyred in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops on LoC in the Keran sector of Kashmir.
Apart from Rajouri, firing has been done on the Line of Control in Poonch district too. However, the Indian Army also responded with its retort.
Sources in the Ministry of Defense said, "Pakistani troops started heavy shelling, targeting Indian check posts on the LoC without any provocation."
