Iran said, Western countries should appreciate Iran for showing restraint towards Israel

Monday, April 15, 2024

Iran has said that Western countries should appreciate Iran for exercising restraint towards Israel.

Iranian officials said this in the context of the deadly attack on the Iranian Consulate in Syria's capital Damascus on April 1, 2024. A total of 13 people were killed in which Revolutionary Guard commander Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi was killed and his deputy was also killed.

Iran fired about 300 drones and missiles towards Israel late on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

However, most of the attacking drones and missiles fired by Iran were shot down in the air by Israel with the help of America and Britain.

"Instead of blaming Iran, Western countries should hold themselves responsible," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said. "They should answer what action they have taken on the war and crimes waged by Israel in Gaza."

Nasser Kanani said, "Western countries should appreciate the restraint that Iran has shown in the past months."

At the same time, China and Russia, considered close to Iran, have appealed to both the countries (Iran and Israel) to exercise restraint.

However, Russia has not criticized Iran's attack. At the same time, China's Foreign Ministry has appealed to maintain peace.

India has close relations with both Israel and Iran. India has appealed to both the countries to exercise restraint.
