The Indian Navy is also helping hand in the campaign of safe return of thousands of Indians trapped abroad.

The Navy has embarked on a mission to bring back more than 700 civilians from the Maldives.

Earlier, two aircraft from Dubai and Abu Dhabi returned with more than 300 Indian people.

An aircraft from Singapore also returned to Delhi carrying 234 passengers.

In the next one week, there will be 64 flights from India to 12 countries which will bring about 15,000 Indians home.

It is understood that under this campaign, eventually 200,000 (two lakh) Indians will be brought back from abroad.

The campaign is said to be the largest such campaign in India since the Gulf War of 1990 when 1,70,000 Indians trapped in Kuwait were brought back.
