India's Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat has told a parliamentary committee that the army is ready to face China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) for long and deploy to the eastern Ladakh region during winter.

According to a news item published in Hindustan, a Hindi daily newspaper published in India, the CDS and top military officials told the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament about China's aggression on the LAC by building on India's border under the guise of China military exercises. China had deployed around 40,000 troops around the area. Despite several rounds of talks between India and China, China is not ready to completely withdraw from some places. China's effort is to prolong the case and create pressure.

Hindustan has quoted sources as saying that CDS told the panel that it may take some time for the situation to return to normal.

Bipin Rawat said, "India is fully prepared to respond to any daring of China. It has also been reported that it may take longer to reduce tension between the two sides. But we are ready to face every situation. Arrangements have also been made in Ladakh.

On the other hand, China has talked about peace in this matter.

Amid the ongoing conflict with the LAC in Ladakh, China has said that maintaining peace along the border is one of their priorities. China's Foreign Ministry said that strengthening the strategic trust with India is one of China's diplomatic priorities.
