Indian Army have 10 Days of Ammunition only: CAG

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shatrughan Sinha has said that the CAG report on the ammunition of the army was a matter of concern.

Shatrughan Sinha said that to be public in such a time (Doklam dispute) report can be discouraging people.

He said that this is a very sensitive issue and should be talked about carefully and urgent action has to be taken.

Between the tensions continuing with China and Pakistan, the CAG said in its report placed in Parliament on Friday that the Indian Army has several important ammunition which is only for 10 days.

The CAG has said in the report that the Army should have a minimum 40-day war reserve. It has been done by the army for 20 days, but currently it has only 10 days to carry weapons and ammunition.

The CAG report also questioned the poor condition of ammunition. The CAG has said that a lot of time has been spent in detecting the poor ammunition and thereby incidents of fire have taken place at several times.
