India Won the Series by Defeating South Africa by Eight Wickets in Final

On the basis of a century partnership between Poonam Raut (70 not out) and Captain Mitali Raj (62 not out), the Indian women's cricket team defeated South Africa by eight wickets in the final match on Sunday at the Kenvas Park ground.

After losing the toss, South Africa's innings was taken by the Indian team for the highest wicket in the world, with Jhulan Goswami (32/3) and Poonam Yadav (22/3) scoring 156 runs on the strength of the bowling.

Due to the target of 157 runs from South Africa, India's first wicket was reduced to 24 runs as Deepti Sharma (8). After that, nine runs were involved in the team's account that Mona Meshram (2) also out and returned to the pavilion. After Meshram was out, Poonam and Captain Mitali playing her 100th match, without losing any wicket, made a 127-run century partnership and brought the team to the goal.

Mithali has become the third player to complete her 100th match as captain in ODI cricket. Earlier, England's Charlotte Edwards and Australia's Belinda Clark achieved this feat. Along with this, Mithali has scored five consecutive half centuries in this season. She has reached Australia's Clarke, Karen Rolton, Lisa Cattley and Ales Perry in this list.

Australia's Lindsay Reeler is in the list in the first place.

Apart from this, India has won 16 consecutive ODIs between February 2016 and May 2017 and has consistently reached number second in the list of the most ODI team winners.

Australia is the first place in this list. They has won 17 matches between December 12, 1997 and February 25, 1999.

Although Australia has a record of winning 16 consecutive matches, it has won so many matches between February 25, 1999 and December 18, 2000.

During India's innings for South Africa, Shabnam Ismail and Marijane Chap took one wicket each.

Earlier, batting first, Goswami's first wicket of the South African team bowled in the fourth ball of the third over as Andrei Sten (4). Ekta Bisht soon gave India another success as Trisha Chetty (6). Sune Luos (55) then shared the team with a 73-run partnership for the third wicket with Migone Do Peez (30). Here Shikha Pandey returned to India and caught du Preez at the hands of Sushma Verma behind the wicket.

After this South African team came out of the way and could not make any big partnerships. The three South African lower-order batswomen could not even open the account and returned unbeaten. Raisib Nitozakhe also returned without opening the account. Apart from Jhulan Goswami, Poonam Yadav, Shikha Pandey took two wickets and Ekta Bisht and Deepti Sharma got one wicket each.
