India gave Buddha to the world, not war: PM Modi

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi said that India has not given war to the world but given Buddha.

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, Modi said, "We are residents of the country that gave Buddha, not war." Has given the message of peace to the whole world.

Modi only gave a 17-minute speech but during this he raised many issues.

They did not take the name of Pakistan, but must surely attack Pakistan in gestures.

Terming extremism as a threat to the world, Modi said, "Our voice has the seriousness and the indignation to alert the world against terror."

Modi said that terrorism is a challenge not for any country but for the whole world and hence it is important that the whole world should come together against terrorism.

Earlier, he said that people are in the United Nations General Assembly because people in India have given their mandate in their favor in a democratic way.

Modi recalled Mahatma Gandhi in his speech. He said that this year is also very important because India is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi this year.

Modi also mentioned many schemes run by his government in India.

He specifically mentioned Ayushman Bharat, Cleanliness Campaign, Jan Dhan Yojana.

Modi said that his government will supply drinking water to 15 crore homes in the next five years. Apart from this, his government will build two crore new houses for the poor.

He said that there is talk of single use plastic ban all over the world, India is running a big campaign for this.

Referring to many schemes going on in India, Modi said, "Our mantra is public welfare with public participation and world welfare with public welfare."

Prior to the speech, the Prime Minister's Office of India has also tweeted about this.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address the General Assembly on Friday itself.

With the speech of both, it is being speculated as to what they can say. However, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said at the beginning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, Modi would not say anything on Article 370, his speech would include terrorism, security and environment.

At the same time, Pakistan has said that it will loudly raise the issue of alleged excesses in the Indian occupied Kashmir.

At the United Nations headquarters in New York, Modi delivered his speech on the fourth position on Friday. At the same time, Imran Khan will come to speak at number seven.

Narendra Modi reached America early this week. There he attended the Indian-American program in Houston with US President Donald Trump.

The Donald Trump was praised by Narendra Modi at the event named 'Howdy Modi'. He also praised the removal of Article 370.

After this, Donald Trump met Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. In this meeting, Trump said that Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had made a very aggressive statement in front of 50,000 people at the Howdy Modi program.

Trump said that he hopes that Pakistan and India will come together and do something that is good for both. And they believe that everything is solved and it will also be solved.

At the same time, Trump did not say anything special during his meeting with Modi. But when Indian journalists asked questions over Pakistan, Trump had told Modi that he had good reporters.
