Three Indian soldiers have died in a violent clash between Indo-China troops in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh. These include an army officer.
The Indian Army has said that there were casualties on both sides. The army has not given any number but military sources have claimed that three Chinese soldiers have been killed. The incident took place on Monday night. Stones have been used from both sides. This is the first time since 1975 that a soldier has been killed on the Indo-China border.
For the last one and a half months, there has been a conflict between troops of India and China in Ladakh. A large number of Chinese soldiers arrived here, objecting to the construction of the road from India. Negotiations were going on in both countries. There were reports of withdrawal of troops from both countries and it was believed that this tension would soon be over.
According to news agency ANI, there was a violent clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh on Monday night. In this, an officer and two soldiers of the Indian Army were killed. Army high officials of both countries are engaged in handling the situation by negotiating on the spot.
Officials said Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane on Tuesday canceled the proposed visit to Pathankot. People associated with this case said that a colonel is also included in the martyred soldiers of India.
Violent clashes between Indian and Chinese troops took place in Pangong Tso area on May 5, following which both sides were face to face and the deadlock persisted. This was becoming the largest military standoff after the Doklam incident of 2017. The high-level talks so far on the ongoing tension between the two countries were held on 6 June.
