India has lodged a protest over the controversial statement made by the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan regarding Kashmir.
The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan had said that China is working to help the Kashmiris get basic rights.
India has sought cleanliness from China. India feels that China is moving away from its declared policy on Jammu and Kashmir.
On Friday, Chinese Ambassador to Islamabad Yao Jing said that "We are also working to help Kashmiris get their basic rights and justice".
"There should be a logical solution to the Kashmir issue and China stands with Pakistan for the peace and stability of the region," he said.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is visiting India on 11–12 October.
