Asad Durrani, the former head of the ISI, believes that it will be hasty to assess whether India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take on India-Pakistan relations, and Every single step taken up so far can be justified in personal terms.
According to the news agency Bhasha, he said that looking at all the steps together, it shows a personality that others like to see and keep in the headlines, both tendencies are politically helpful, but stable relations, especially is against the sensitive equation of Indo-Pak, Durrani has written these things in his memoirs 'Pakistan Adrift: Navigating Troubled Waters'.
He wrote that all the steps taken so far, calling Nawaz Sharif into swearing, then reciting falsehood, burning the atmosphere on the Line of Control between the two countries, canceling a signatory meeting of Foreign Secretaries on a concocted excuse ( Our high commissioners used to meet Hurriyat leaders on a regular basis), nothing happened in the program at Ufa, Trouble in Paris, after abusing Pakistan in Kabul suddenly reaching Lahore, replicating response to Pathankot, all these can be said to be rational in personal terms.
On the solution of Indo-Pak issue Durrani said that he believes that India will defend the status quo at all costs.
