India successfully launched South Asia Satellite (GSAT-9). The launch was done from Sriharikota on Friday (May 5th). It was launched from Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV).
Pakistan was not involved in this mission. The rest of SAARC countries will benefit from this. It took India three years to build it. A total of Rs 235 crores spent in the construction of this. Apart from India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka will be able to take advantage of GSAT-9.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi congratulated the ISRO scientists and tweeted. Along with this he also addressed the people of all the Allies. At that time, all the big leaders from SAARC countries were associated with each other through video conferencing.
It was the most massive space rocket ever launched by India. Communication satellite GSAT-9 will provide communication facilities to seven South Asian countries including India.
Each of these countries will be able to use at least one 12 KU-band transponders of this satellite, which will strengthen their communication system. In the natural disaster and emergency situation, this communication mechanism will also allow all countries to connect to the hotline.
