The Aam Aadmi Party has performed on Thursday ahead of the Election Commission office on the issue of electronic voting machines. Delhi Labour Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai said that he has kept his three demands before the Election Commission.
He said that if the Election Commission says that EVM machine can not be tampered, then we demand that give us the machine and we will be able to hack it.
Gopal Rai said, "We demand that the questions raised about EVMs should be answered. This issue was raised in states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Punjab. We appeal to the Election Commission to give us the machine and we can show them the hack. Second wants that has to follow the order of Supreme Court imposing VVPAT in 2013. And the third demand is that the voting machine and slip should be kept accountable."
At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj made many claims about EVM in a press conference. He raised the issue of alleged disturbances in EVM in Dhaulpur and Bhind.
He said, "There are two types of questions in the mind of the people - can the EVM be disturbed and whether the EVM has been disturbed? Most of the elections have taken place after the notes ban, BJP has won."
Saurabh Bhardwaj said that we demand from the Election Commission that a committee should be constituted to investigate the disturbances of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Pune elections.
Gopal Rai has submitted the memorandum to the Election Commission and has the following three demands:
- All elections should be done with VVPAT engineered EVM machine.
- Voting machine and slip should be maintained at 25 percent polling booth.
- Gujarat elections should be done entirely by VVPAT.
