In a case related to the fodder scam, the special CBI court of Ranchi sentenced Lalu Prasad Yadav to imprisonment of three and a half years (January 6) and imposed a penalty of 5 lakh on him. Decision in Deoghar Treasury case has been heard through video conferencing. Now Lalu Yadav can not get bail from this court. They will have to knock the High Court door for bail. If Lalu Prasad Yadav does not pay a penalty of Rs 5 lakh, then they will be given 6 months extra imprisonment will suffer.
In this case, a total of 16 people were convicted. Besides Lalu, Phol Chand, Mahesh Prasad, Julius, Sunil Kumar, Sushil Kumar, Sudhir Kumar and Rajaram have also been sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment and Rs 5 lakhs.
38 people were accused in the case of illegal evacuation on the name of fodder of Rs 89 lakhs, 27 thousand rupees from Deoghar treasury between 1990 and 1994, against whom the CBI filed the case on October 27, 1997, and After 21 years, the verdict came on December 23 in the case.
In the case of the fodder scam, on December 23, three leaders including Lalu Prasad, three IAS officers, then officer of the Animal Husbandry Department Krishan Kumar Prasad, Veterinary officer Subir Bhattacharya and eight fodder suppliers Sushil Kumar Jha, Sunil Kumar Sinha, Rajaram Joshi, Gopinath Das, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Jyoti Kumar Jha, Sunil Gandhi and Tripurari Mohan Prasad were convicted and sent to jail.
In this case, the culprits will not get bail from Ranchi court. They will have to go the High Court for bail.
JD-U leader K.C. Tyagi said that we welcome this decision of the court. This is a historic decision for Bihar's politics. This is the end of a chapter.
Lalu Yadav's son, Tejasvi Yadav, on the court's decision said that the judiciary has done his job. After the copy of the decision of the court, we go to the High Court and apply for bail.
