In a case of the well-known fodder scam, the verdict will be pronounced on Thursday (January 4) for Rashtriya Janata Dal President Lalu Prasad Yadav. On January 3, the special CBI court was going to pronounce the sentence, but the announcement of the sentence was postponed for one day due to the death of Advocate Vindeswari Prasad.
The court found guilty of contempt for Lalu's son Tejaswi Yadav, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Manoj Jha for making statements against the verdict on December 23 in this matter. The three leaders have been asked to appear before the court on January 23.
In this case, on December 23, former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, RK Rana, Jagdish Sharma, three IAS officers, then finance commissioner Foolchand Singh, then Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department Beck Julius, and another senior officer Mahesh Prasad, besides the then Department of Animal Husbandry Officer Krishna Kumar Prasad, Mobile Veterinary Officer Subir Bhattacharya and eight fodder suppliers Sushil Kumar Jha, Sunil Kumar Sinha, Rajaram Joshi, Gopinath Das, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Jyoti Kumar Jha, Sunil Gandhi and Tripurari Mohan Prasad were convicted and sent to jail. This case is a scandal in the withdrawal of Rs 84.5 lakh from the treasury of Deogarh district (now Jharkhand), at that time Lalu Prasad was the chief minister of Bihar. The hearing of the case ended on December 13.
Earlier, in another case of fodder scam to illegally evacuate 37 crore 70 lakh rupees from Chaibasa treasury, Lalu Yadav, Jagdish Sharma, Rana, former Chief Minister Dr. Jagannath Mishra and many others in today's case are convicted. He has been released from the High Court on bail.
Special Judge Shivpal Singh, on December 23, in connection with a fake withdrawal case of Rs 89 lakh, 27 thousand rupees from Deoghar treasury, was named as former Chief Minister of Bihar, Dr. Jagannath Mishra, Bihar's former minister Vidya Sagar Nishad, Dhruv Bhagat, then president of PAC, Hardik Chandra Chaudhary, Saraswati Chandra and Sadhna Singh acquitted.
