Donald Trump neither fined nor jailed in hush money case

America's newly elected President Donald Trump has not been punished on all 34 charges in the hush money case.

While delivering the verdict, Justice Merchan said, "I wish you success in your second term."

The court decided to release Trump unconditionally, which means that he will neither have to pay any fine in this case nor will he have to serve any jail sentence.

Justice Merchan told the court that releasing Trump unconditionally in this case is a legitimate punishment without encroaching upon the highest office of this country.

Trump is accused of secretly paying money to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for keeping quiet in order to avoid a scandal in 2016. He was convicted in this case in May 2024.

Trump will take oath as the President of America for the second time on January 20, 2025.
