After this program, on May 27, Shashi Tharoor filed a defamation case against Arnab Goswami and Republic TV in the Delhi High Court. Tharoor demanded a compensation of two crore rupees for allegedly defamatory remarks against him.

Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a five star hotel in Delhi. Since the murder, so far the disclosure has not been disclosed. During this time, Shashi Tharoor himself remained in the scope of suspicion of his wife's murder.

However, despite several months of investigation and forensic reports, the police could not reach any conclusions. The investigation of the case reached the American investigating agency FBI, but there was no specific information available from the spot.

Later it was revealed that after landing at the Delhi airport, there was a talk about something between Tharoor and Sunanda.
