Under a new scheme, the Delhi government has proposed to bear, at private hospitals, the cost of treatment of victims of motor accidents, fire incidents and acid attacks that take place on city’s roads.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal yesterday. Briefing reporters, State Health Minister Satyendra Jain said, irrespective of domicile of the victims, free medical treatment will be provided to them at private hospitals in case of such incidents. He said, the treatment in government hospitals is already free. Satyendra Jain said, the plan will now be sent to Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal for approval.
