The main shooter arrested in the murder of Narendra Dabholkar was trained to run bullets at different places in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The CBI said this in a court on Sunday. The court sent the Chief Shooter Prakashrao Andure to CBI custody till 26th August on Sunday. He was arrested by the CBI last evening. He was presented in front of the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) AS Majumdar today.
Seeking the custody of 14 days of Andure, CBI counsel Vijaykumar Dhanke told the court that the investigation has revealed that he had trained to run bullets at different places in Maharashtra and Karnataka before executing the murder of Dabholkar.
He said, "The CBI needs to investigate where he trained to shoot and who provided the necessary basic amenities to both the shooters."
The investigating agency told the court that Andure was one of the two attackers who had fired on Narendra Dabholkar on the 20th August, 2013 at the Omkareshwar bridge in Pune. The CBI counsel told the court, "Dr. Virender Tawde, along with the accused, has conspired and is need to expose this conspiracy. There is need to take in custody for interrogation for it."
The CBI had arrested Virender Tawde, a member of Hindu Janajagriti Samiti, from New Mumbai in June, 2016. In the chargesheet it has been described as the main conspirator. Defense lawyer Prakash Salsingigkar questioned the arrest of Prakasharao Andure and said that after the arrest of Virender Tawde, the CBI in its chargesheet had referred Sanrag Akolkar and Vinay Pawar to Narendra Dabholkar's killer.
