There has been a big revealing of the Aadhaar card's secret information in India. According to the reports, you can buy information related to the Aadhaar of any person by paying only Rs 500.
The English newspaper 'The Tribune' claimed in one of its reports that one of its correspondent took a software from Rs 500 to an unknown person through WhatsApp, through which a data base of about one billion people of India could be obtained.
However UIDAI says that this is a case of wrong reporting. It has been claimed in the report that all the details of the Aadhaar of all of the 500 rupees made in India could still be read. It has been said in the report that the reporter approached an agent who ran the gang and gave Rs 500 through PayTM. After 10 minutes a person gave him a log in ID and password. Through this, the complete information of any Aadhaar number on the portal could be obtained. These information includes name, address, postal code, photo, phone number, and email. Not only this, when the agent was given 300 rupees, he gave the software through which the Aadhaar of any person could be printed.
The report claims that around 100,000 people are involved in this racket. These people are those who have been given the responsibility of forming Aadhar cards across the country under the Common Service Centers Scheme by the Ministry of Electronics and Technical Education. During this time they were given access to the UIDAI data. They are called Village Level Enterprises (VLE).
Last year in november, in view of the danger of Aadhaar data leakage, the government withdrew it from them.
According to the report, nearly one lakh village level enterprise misused the Aadhaar data in the greed of making money. The Congress, Left has given a strong reaction to this news. The Congress has written from its official Twitter account that, "Rs 500. That's all it takes for someone to steal the data of a billion citizens. Envisioned by UPA as a tool for inclusion, #Aadhaar has become an identity theft nightmare under the NDA."
CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury has written, "The perils of making Aadhaar mandatory and linking it to bank accounts, as insisted upon by Modi govt, are visible here. Do we need more proof to stop this madness?''
Shashi Tharoor has written, ''How ₹500 is all it takes to buy you unauthorized access to the #Aadhar database.''
However, UIDAI has responded on this news and dismissed this report. UIDAI says that this is a case of wrong reporting. UIDAI said, "We assure that there is no theft of the Aadhaar data and this data is completely secure and protected."
Let tell you that there has been reports of leak of Aadhaar data before this. In November last year, UIDAI also said that the Aadhaar data of the citizens of the country is safe.
