Allahabad High Court has ordered the maintenance of the status quo on 4,500 acres land given to Patanjali Yog Limited attached to Ramdev to set up a food park in Noida.
On Tuesday, the Allahabad High Court asked the Yamuna Express Way Authority whether Ramdev, any of his associates or his company was allotted the land in an indirect-direct way to set up food parks?
While giving the Allahabad High Court a day's time, the Allahabad High Court said that the matter will be heard on Wednesday.
A person named Asaf Khan had filed a petition in Allahabad High Court challenging Patanjali's land allocation.
It was said in the petition that cutting of 600 trees on this land would harm the environment.
The Allahabad High Court has already banned any kind of construction on this land.
In this case, the government and Yamuna Express Way Authority have been enthralled by the mutual contradictory claims made. The Uttar Pradesh government says that authorities have cut off 300 trees from this land, while the authorities say that they did not cut any tree.
On behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government, the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) filed an affidavit and said that he went on the spot and noticed that some green plants that were planted recently have been eroded.
The Allahabad High Court dismissed the DM's plea by referring to those photographs showing huge trees.
In the supplementary affidavit filed in the Allahabad High Court trees are seen to be pulled up with the help of JCB machine.
On August 29, the Yamuna Expressway Authority had told the Allahabad High Court that if the trees were even uprooted on the disputed land, then it has not been done on the directions of the Authority.
During the hearing on the matter, the bench of Justice Tarun Agrawal and justice Ajay Bhanot said that the matter is being tried to cover the case.
Patanjali has made a great entry into the Indian market as a brand. In May of this year, Ramdev had told that Patanjali's turnover has been Rs 10,561 crore and the profits are growing at 100 per cent.
