Corona Virus: Will the lockdown be extended after April 14 in India?

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday after an all-party meeting on the corona virus that it seems difficult to end the lockdown together.

The Indian government imposed a 21-day lockdown across the country on March 25 to prevent the spread of the corona virus. It is to end on 14 April.

Meanwhile, the government is reviewing whether the lockdown should be pursued or not. Several states have also suggested the central government to pursue the lockdown.

Prime Minister Modi has called the state of the country a social emergency. He has said that the priority of his government is to save the life of every person in the country.

Will the lockdown be increased in Rajasthan?

In view of the ever increasing corona cases in Rajasthan, the government has not taken a clear decision on ending the lockdown. However, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot pointed to the media advancing several lockdowns.

A committee has been formed under the leadership of Rajiv Swaroop, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department. Which is considering moving the lockdown ending on April 14 or opening in a phased manner.

Rajiv Swaroop, Additional Chief Secretary, Rajasthan Home Department told the BBC, "We are preparing on this. Can't say anything right now."

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said about the end of the lockdown on NDTV, "I believe that we cannot open it together. If we open it, the 21-day lockdown will end."

Madhya Pradesh government gave hints to increase lockdown

The possibility of ending the lockdown after April 14 in Madhya Pradesh seems unlikely. However, no final decision has been taken on this yet. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has indicated that the lockdown may be extended.

Talking to reporters, he said, "People are being negotiated in the kind of situation that exists now. Nothing has been decided yet."

He said that the decision will be taken according to the situation. The Chief Minister said that in the present situation in Bhopal and Indore, it seems difficult to remove it. The first objective is to save people's lives, only then some thought can be done.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that where the corona is not yet suffering, talks are being held with experts to open the lockdown.

Corona positive patients are being found continuously in Indore and Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, the figure of corona positive patient has reached 327 so far. There have been 173 corona positive patients in Indore. In Bhopal, 45 officials / employees of the Health Department have been found corona positive, due to which the figure has reached 91.

Assam government in favor of conditional lockdown

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam Government has spoken before the media on lockdown several times in favor of conditional lockdown after April 15.

Speaking to the media on the lockdown after a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Minister Sarma said, "It is not possible to maintain the status of complete lockdown after 21 days of lockdown. Our PDS does not support lockdown. Therefore We are in favor of a conditional lockdown with some leeway. Overall many states in the country have a similar opinion about it.

Advising people to avoid gathering during festivals like Rongali Bihu and Good Friday, celebrated this month, the minister said, "The central government will decide the status of the lockdown and accordingly the state government cabinet will meet on April 13 If the Center leaves the decision to open and continue the lockdown on the states, then we will take the decision. And if the central government comes to the lockdown If the area is too decides to continue, we will proceed accordingly.

Chhattisgarh suggested to increase lockdown

Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singhdev says that even after April 14, the lockdown in the state should be extended for at least two weeks.

He said, "According to the assessment of experts globally and at the country level, we have such a large population in which the symptoms of corona are not visible yet. It is expected that in the coming days our Such cases will increase in the country.

Singhdeo said, "Corona outbreak has increased in the seven states that Chhattisgarh is surrounded by. We have been able to prevent corona infection in Chhattisgarh due to the lockdown. Nine out of ten patients have been discharged from the hospital. In such a situation, the lockdown should continue for at least two weeks even after April 14 in Chhattisgarh to maintain the current situation. ''

Earlier on Monday, the state Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wrote a letter to the Prime Minister urging him to ensure concrete measures to control the prevalence of Kovid-19 across the country before starting inter-state traffic.

Kerala said the lockdown should be carried forward

At the same time, Kerala has officially asked the central government to remove the lockdown in a phased manner. Kerala has asked the central government to lift the lockdown in three phases by June 30.

This advice has been given by an expert committee headed by former Chief Secretary and Sebi member KK Abraham.

At the same time, Karnataka is considering removing the lockdown from 12 districts where no cases of corona infection have been reported so far. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has indicated that the lockdown in other districts will be removed in a phased manner.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said that he has appealed to the Prime Minister to pursue the lockdown. He said, the economy will be hurt but if people die then we will not be able to compensate for this loss. The economy can be revived, so I think the lockdown should be carried forward.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has not yet clarified his stand but his government has been saying that the central and state government will decide on the right time. Meanwhile, strict steps are being taken in the Corona Hotspot areas.
