Kazakhstan has dismissed reports by Chinese officials that the country is "battling an epidemic of undisclosed pneumonia".

On Thursday, the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan warned its citizens that "the country is suffering from pneumonia that could possibly be fatal from Kovid-19".

The Chinese embassy said that there were 1,772 deaths in Kazakhstan in the first six months of the year 2020 due to the epidemic of pneumonia and of these 628 deaths occurred in the month of June alone. The deaths occurred due to this in three provinces of Kazakhstan.

In response, the Health Ministry of Kazakhstan on Friday called the report "inaccurate".

According to the Ministry of Health, there have been cases of "unknown virus causing pneumonia" in Kazakhstan recently, but the warning that the Chinese embassy has issued is "not true".

According to the ministry, people with corona-like symptoms have undergone corona virus tests according to World Health Organization regulations and have had a negative result after which the disease has been reported as pneumonia.

Kazakhstan has imposed a nationwide lockdown after new cases of corona virus infection were reported recently.

According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health, as of July 10, around 55,000 people in the country are corona infected while 264 people have died due to this.

Many Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, are accused of declaring the second wave of the Corona epidemic as pneumonia, reducing the number of infections.

On Friday, the World Health Organization said in a statement to the news agency AFP that Kazakhstan is identifying cases of pneumonia according to the organization's guidelines.

The World Health Organization said that the reports of pneumonia-related news from Kazakhstan are being monitored by the organization, these cases may be related to corona virus.

Mike Ryan of the organization's Emergency Program said that "the outbreak of the corona epidemic in a country is indicated by the fact that cases of infection with this virus are not being identified."
