BJP's National General Secretary P Murlidhar Rao said in the meeting of the party that Congress will win 150 seats in the assembly elections next year. In Karnataka, 113 seats are enough to form the government.

Murlidhar Rao immediately realized his mistake and, while defying his point of view, said that BJP will win 150 seats in the forthcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, but due to the unnecessary mistake of Murlidhar Rao, the party has suffered untoward loss.

Video of his statement leaked to social media. Finally, Murlidhar Rao asked the BJP's Social Media cell to release the full video of his address.

There is currently the Congress government in Karnataka. Congress's K siddharamaya is the Chief Minister of the state. The last assembly elections in Karnataka were held in May 2013. There are a total of 225 seats in the Legislative Assembly in the state. In the last election, the Congress had won the state's 125 seats and ousted the BJP from power.

BJP won 44 seats and Janata Dal (Secular) 40 seats. The rest of the seats were added to the accounts of other parties and independents.

In the 2013 elections, the BJP had suffered a huge loss of BS Yediyurappa leaving the party. In the leadership of Yediyurappa, BJP had succeeded in forming a government for the first time in a South Indian state. Yediyurappa, after leaving the BJP, had contested by forming a separate party.

Even though Yediyurappa could not win his party, he had played a vital role in defeating the BJP.
