Congress and National People's Party claim to form government in Meghalaya

Congress met to the governor and claimed forming a government under leadership of former CM Mukul Sangma. In Meghalaya, former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma's son, Conard Sangma's party National People's Party (NPP) is making the government along with other parties, including the BJP. Conard Sangma met the Governor Ganga Prasad on Sunday (March 4th) and claimed to form a government.

The Congress has been occupying 21 seats, while the NPP has won 19 seats. In the account of others, 17 seats and only 2 seats may have come in the BJP's account. In Meghalaya, 31 seats are required to form the government. NPP is claiming to have secured seats with the support of allies. Conard Sangma has claimed the support of 34 MLAs.

The formation of a new government in Meghalaya will be on March 6 at 10.30 am. The chief ministerial candidate has not yet been selected, but in this race, Conard Sangma is leading the front. After meeting with the Governor, Conard Sangma said that the current session is ending on 7th March, so all things must be done before that, in this regard, the next two-three days are very important. He said that by March 5, all things will be clear.

Here, BJP leader Hemant Visv Sarma has told the news agency ANI that Conard Sangma will be the next Chief Minister of Meghalaya. He also said that there will be no Deputy Chief Minister in the state. Meanwhile, Conard Sangma said that he knows that it is not easy to run the coalition government, but he is confident that the MLAs who are with him are devoted to the state and the people. He said that all the people will work together for the development of the state. The United Democratic Party (UDP), which won 6 seats in Meghalaya, has announced support for the National People's Party. United Democratic Party chief, Donkpur Rai said that he is in favor of forming a non-Congress government in the state. The Hill State People's Democratic Party (HSPDP), which won 2 seats, is also with the National People's Party.

In Meghalaya, the Congress rule was. In this election, Congress got 21 seats and emerged as the largest party. However, the party was far behind to required the figures to form the government. The Congress had sent two senior leaders here to explore the possibilities of forming a government in this state, although they could not achieve success. The Congress met the Governor and to claimed for the formation of a government headed by former CM Mukul Sangma.
