India's Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramaniam has resigned from his post. India's Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Wednesday that Arvind Subramaniam will return to the United States after serving for nearly four years.

Arun Jaitley wrote on his Facebook post - "He will return to the United States with regard to his commitment to the family .... He has not left any other choice except to give me my consent."

Arvind Subramaniam took over as Chief Financial Advisor on October 16, 2014 for three years. Which was extended last year and later by October 2018. In his Facebook title - 'Thank you Arvind', Jaitley said that Subramaniam was washed away from the family due to his current job, when he requested him to stay for the last one year on his position.

Jaitley said, "A few days ago Subramaniam spoke to me through video conferencing. He told that he wants to return to the United States due to family commitments. Their reasons are personal, but they are very important for them. I had no choice but to agree to them. "

Jaitley said that in October last year Subramaniam's term was completed three years. After this, he urged Subramaniam to stay for some time on his position.
     
Jaitley said, "Even here he has told me that he is stuck between family commitments and current job. This is his most satisfying job till now. "

Jaitley had kidney transplant in May. Now the Finance Ministry has additional charge of Piyush Goyal.

Jaitley expressed gratitude to Subramanyam for the wider economic management of the Indian economy. He said, "Personally, I will miss his personality, energy, intellectual abilities and ideas. One day he came to my room many times and called me 'minister'. Sometimes he used to give good news and then came to give a different kind of news. Of course I will miss them. I believe he will be sending his advice or analysis from wherever he is. "
