Calcutta High Court handed over the investigation of the rape and murder case of a female doctor to the CBI

The Calcutta High Court has ordered a CBI inquiry into the rape and murder case of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The Calcutta High Court has ordered the police investigating the incident to hand over all the documents to the CBI by 10 am on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
This verdict was given by Calcutta High Court Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranyamay Bhattacharya.
Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari had filed a petition in this matter.
Lawyers Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya and Kaustubh Bagchi were pleading the case.
On Friday, August 9, 2024, the body of a female doctor studying at RG Kar Medical College was found in the seminar hall. The doctor had fallen asleep in the seminar hall after eating food.
According to the police, this incident of rape and murder took place between three in the night and six in the morning.
