According to the news, Hoshangabad district farmer Babu Verma (40) had committed suicide in the past. While 65-year-old Lakshmi Gomasta committed suicide by poisoning in Narasinhanagar district. The incident is last Monday.
Let us say that on June 6, 17 people have committed suicide in the farmer movement in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh. All were demanding the fair price of corps and loan waiver.
On the other hand, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu in the Modi government, while targeting the farmers who are protesting, said that crop loan forgiveness has become fashionable these days. The BJP leader further said that farmers should be given exemptions in loan forgiveness, but in extreme bad circumstances. He said that the debt waiver is not the last solution for the betterment of the farmers.
While opposing Naidu's statement related to farmer loan waiver, CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury said that in the last three years 36 to 40 thousand farmers have committed suicide. He further said that telling the loan apology a fashionable by the Union Minister is an insult to our Feeders.
