Iran's President Hassan Rouhani Saturday banned the celebrations in which crowds gather. New cases of corona are on the rise once again in Iran. However, President Rouhani has said that the economy will remain open.

Shortly after Hasan Rouhani's television address, police in Tehran announced the closure of wedding venues and mourning meetings. Police has said that they will remain closed till further notice.

Iran started loosening the lockdown from the middle of April but new cases of corona have increased rapidly in recent times.

On Saturday, 188 people died in Iran from Corona and with this the total number of dead has reached 12,635.

There have been 2,397 reported cases of corona in Iran in the last 24 hours. A total of 255,117 have been infected in Iran so far. Rouhani said on Saturday, "There is a need to tightly stop celebrations all over Iran." Whether it is in celebration or in sorrow. There is no time for any celebration and seminar.

Even university entrance examinations have been suspended. The government of Iran believes that the rise in Corona cases is due to these ceremonies. An advisor to the Corona Virus Task Force in Iran has warned that if the rules are not followed strictly, as many as 50,000 to 60,000 people may die in Iran.
