Asian Games 2018: Vinesh Phogat gives India second gold

On the second day of Asian Games, Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat (50kg) put the second gold medal in the Indian side. This is the first time a female wrestler has won gold in the Asian Games.

Earlier, Bajrang Poonia won the first gold medal on Sunday. Prior to this, Deepak Kumar made a brilliant start of the day with a silver medal by giving India a silver medal in the shooting. After this, the 19-year old Lacshya added another medal to the name of India by winning silver medal at trap shooting.

India now has 5 medals in total. There are two gold, two silver and one bronze.

Although the bronze winner at the Rio Olympics, Sakshi Malik (62kg) and Pooja Dhanda (57kg) lost in their respective semi-finals.

On the first day India won two medals. Bajrang Poonia won gold medal in wrestling, while Ravi and Apurvi won bronze medal in shooting.
