On Friday (June 9th) in the press club of Delhi against on the raids of the famous Indian journalist Pranay Roy and NDTV, the country's famous editor-in-chief and journalists gathered and attacked the Centre's Narendra Modi government.
Arun Shourie, who was minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government at a press conference held at the Press Club, struck a sharp blow to the Modi government. While quote Arun Shourie's statement, NDTV's journalist Nidhi Rajdan wrote, "Whoever tried to raise his hand against the media, his hand was burnt."
Arun Shourie told reporters that they should boycott the programs of the Union Ministers, you should not call ministers in their program.
Arun Shourie said that the Modi government of the Centre is using pressure. He has just made an example of NDTV, this pressure will increase in the coming months.
Arun Shourie said that at this time there are three supporters of journalists, first our solidarity, the second court and the third trust of our readers and the audience.
This program was also addressed by NDTV co-founder Pranay Roy. He said that all allegations leveled against NDTV are completely false and fabricated.
Pranay Roy said, "Though there is no one above the law, but I have to say that we will face all false allegations in a transparent way, but we only want that the investigation of this whole matter is within a time limit.''
He appealed to all the journalists and said that no one should bow before the pressure of the government, if we bow down once, the power can be dominated. In this gathering of journalists, several senior journalists including Fali Nariman, HK Dua, Rajdeep Sardesai joined.
Let us know that on 6th June the CBI had raided Pranay Roy's hideouts in Delhi and Dehradun. The CBI has also filed a case against Pranay Roy and his wife Radhika Roy in this case. Private bank ICICI has been accused of causing a loss of Rs 48 crores on both. This raids of the CBI have been told by several journalists as politically motivated.
