India's Minister of State for Skill Development, Anant Kumar Hegde, has given a controversial statement on secularism. Addressing a program in Karnataka, he said that people who claim to be secular and progressive, do not know the blood of their parents.
The Union Minister also advocated people to identify themselves on the basis of religion and caste instead of secular. Simultaneously, with this thinking, the constitution can also be changed and that's why we are here.
There was a lot of ruckus on this statement. Now AIMIM leader Gurushant Pattedar has announced Rs. 1 crore reward for the cutting of Hegde's tongue.
Talking to the local media, Gurushant Pattedar said that Ananth Kumar Hegde has said extremely abusive words for the backward castes and minorities. Today, on Tuesday, I announce that before ending the day anyone who cuts Hedge's tongue, I will give him Rs. 1 crore.
Explain that Anant Hegde was addressing a program of Brahmin Yuva Parishad and women in Yalburga in Koppal district in Karnataka. He said, "Those who claim to be secular and progressive, do not have information about their parents and their blood. I would be so happy. If a person identifies himself as a Muslim, Christian, Brahmin, Lingayat or Hindu. This kind of identity gets self-esteem. The problem arises when someone calls himself secular. "
Karnataka's CM Siddaramaiah also objected to the statement saying that Anant Hegde does not have the knowledge of culture and parliamentary language.
