In 2G scam in India, a local court in Delhi has acquitted all the accused today (December 21). Special Judge OP Saini acquitted all the accused, including former Telecom Minister A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi, in both cases filed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED).
During the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in 2008, the telecom department had allegedly alleged unanimity in licensing of 2G spectrum, which was widely disclosed after the CAG report in 2010.
This decision is being criticized by the people in the social media. Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh accused the Modi government of the Center that the BJP has dealt with the DMK.
Ashutosh wrote, "In the last three and a half years, the agencies are working under the Modi government. Why did not the CBI investigate 2G properly? Why not gather the evidence? BJP raised a lot of anger in the opposition? Then why not punish the accused? What did BJP deal after the formation of the government? He further wrote, "Modiji should tell the country what your government did to deal on 2G?''
Ashutosh further wrote, "It is a strange coincidence." Do not punish anyone in Bofors, neither in 2G. If BJP lives in opposition, then accuses and the BJP government protects. Modi ji give answer.
Even the common people are reacting strongly on this decision and saying that justice is different for the rich and the poor in India. One user wrote, "Nobody has scam. Actually, the law is 'blind'.'' Devarti Majumdar wrote, "People say the law is blind, but it is not so. You need to pay the right price to keep the eyes of the law open.'' Fatima Arya Nenb wrote," PM Modi went to Karunanidhi's house on 6th of November, do not ask more now.'' Neeraj Bhatia wrote, ''There is a slap on the face of those people who used to accuse Dr. Manmohan Singh.'' Girish Anand wrote, ''It is not a 2G, an investigation scandal.'' A user wrote, ''The 2G scam filed in 2009, Decision came in 2017, it seems that case was moving from 1G Speed.''
