A Fire Broke Out in a 24-Storey Building in London, 12 People Died, more than 74 Recruits in Hospital

 14 Jun 2017 ( IBTN News Bureau )

A massive fire broke out in a 24-storey residential building in west London today (June 14th), in which at least twelve people died and 74 others were injured.

This is the most fierce fire in Britain in the last nearly three decades. A fire broke out in the Grenfell Tower of Lancaster West Estate, located on Latimer Road.

It is believed that when the building was surrounded by flames, about 600 people were present in 120 floors of the tower.

Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Kandy said, "I can confirm the death of 12 people but these figures are likely to increase."

According to BBC News, the building is still in the circle of fire. It is feared to collapse at any time. About 200 fireworkers are still trying to control the fire.

Nearly 200 fireworkers, 40 fire engines and 20 ambulances are on the spot.

National Health Service said that a total of 74 people are undergoing treatment in the hospital, while the condition of 20 people is critical.

The fireworkers have saved a large number of people, but London Mayor Sadiq Khan said that many people were not aware of it.

Eyewitnesses said that many people stranded inside the building surrounded by flames were screaming for help and were trying to save their children. Some people were seen trying to escape from the building using a sheet.

London Fire Service Chief Danny Cotton told reporters, "This is an unprecedented incident. In my 29 years of career, I have never seen such a massive fire incident.

It is believed that the fire started due to a bad refrigerator on the third and fourth floors immediately after midnight and it spread to spread.

However, the Metropolitan Police has said that it needs some time before confirming the reason for the fire.

Significantly, there are a large number of Muslims living near the Grenfell Tower area. Many people were awake at the time of the fire. They were preparing for Sahari to be eaten during the Ramadan.
