In Odisha, a case has been registered for allegedly giving Rs 500-500 to the media persons for covering a program of Union minister Nitin Gadkari.

According to the news, the program was organized by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Journalists present at the venue remained surprised when every journalist present there was given a note of five hundred rupees.

Although the Odisha Police and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) have started investigating the efforts of the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in an attempt to bribe media workers in Ugul.

In fact, the media persons were waiting for the arrival of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Dharmendra Pradhan in an event in Angul's Dashahara Ground. Meanwhile, Rs.500 note was given to media workers in every media kit. Journalists also told that these media kits were distributed by NHAI officials.

However, the media workers strongly opposed it. One journalist has lodged a complaint in Angul police station. Angul's SP Brigesh Rai told that the police has received a complaint and we are investigating it.

On the other hand, a reporter told the media, "This is not the first time that journalists have been bribed in such a program. Many times the event organized by the Indian government has also tried to hijack the BJP in the state. Although we ourselves do not know who does such things in the programs."

This was stated by Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Rourkela (Odisha) Friday (July 21, 2017). He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Kanakatora-Jharsuguda Section Road with the foundation stone of six lane II bridge on the Brahmani River in Balooghat of Rourkela and the Four lane Birimatrapura Brahmani bypass road and the Belpahad Bypass in Rourkela.

Gadkari said that once a day before the scheduled time, one lakh rupees reward for completing the work and one lakh rupees will be penalized for one day delay.
