After acquitting all the accused by a court on Thursday in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation case in India, Congress has targeted former CAG Vinod Rai and BJP. Senior Congress leader and India's former Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday said that his stand on the loss of 2G spectrum allocation proved to be correct.
Sibal said, "I had been saying from the first day that there is no loss, and today this matter proved. Actually Vinod Rai should apologize to the country. The BJP (Opposition at that time) should also apologize to the country.''
After the special court of the CBI acquitted all the accused in the spectrum allocation scam, Sibal said this. India's former telecom minister A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi were acquitted by a special court in the 2G scam case on Thursday and simultaneously acquitted 15 other accused and three companies in this case.
Sibal said that there was no issue from the beginning. In fact if there is a scam then there is scandal of lies, there was no scam from us. We worked in accordance with policies. Media, BJP and Vinod Rai created such an atmosphere, due to which the telecom sector is still in serious condition, and all this happened due to Vinod Rai and the BJP, which was the opposition party at that time.
In February 2012, the Supreme Court had canceled 122 telecom licenses in India, Sibal said that it was not the right decision. Sibal said that the court tried to give a good decision in the interest of the country on its behalf, although it is not necessary that it has been right.
