123,000 Rohingya Muslims Arrive in Bangladesh Fearing Violence in Myanmar: UN

A United Nations official has said that at least 123,000 Rohingya Muslims have reached Bangladesh after crossing the border due to violence in Myanmar's Rakhine province.

UNHCR's spokesman Joseph Surajmoni Tripura in Bangladesh told the AFE that in recent refugees, more than 30 thousand refugees have arrived during the last 24 hours, who are living in temporary camps.

According to UN sources, only six thousand refugees out of 123,000 are living in refugee camps in the Cox's Bazaar district with their family members.

On Tuesday, the large number of Rohingya Muslims have arrived to Bangladesh. Myanmar has refused to give citizenship to this community here and Bangladesh has given them status as refugees.

According to the AFE, the boat of Rohingya refugees, continuing through the Bay of Bengal in Teknaf area, is continuously reaching the coast.

Among the nearly three to five lakh Rohingya Muslims live in Bangladesh, out of which only 32 thousand are refugees and they live in the Cox market district.

Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) rebels have handed over to fire hundreds of houses to the villages of northern Myanmar in the past two days. A government committee gave this information on Tuesday.

According to the news agency Xinhua, rebels handed over 50 houses to fire after a clash with security forces in Oakapyuma village and also destroyed 120 houses in Aaunata village. More than 90 houses were handed over to fire by the explosion of explosive devices in Dingar, Sokinama and Hontaraya.

Myanmar's security forces said that in Thinbaugwe village the terrorists handed over 400 houses to the fire.

On 25 August, the rebels attacked 30 police checkpoints in northern Rakhine. By August 31, more than 52 attacks took place, in which 13 security personnel were killed. 14 civilians were killed, including seven Hindus and people of five dainganait caste trying to escape during the attacks.

Nearly 38,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled to the border of Bangladesh.

Myanmar's army said that the security forces have provided 11,720 tribal villagers in safe places and they are being provided help. Myanmar's army said that the campaign to evacuate the villagers is in progress.
